HOW IS IT IMPLeMENTED
Fun activities that get students to identify their strengths, interest and their true nature is carried out in a form of workshops and seminars to help them gain knowledge of what happens in the university. This helps them take the best decisions as part of their preparation towards going to the university.
WHO DELIVERS THIS ACTION?
The activities are delivered by volunteers who are undergraduates, masters' students, and doctoral researchers. They share their experiences, knowledge, skills through designed fun activities to the students in sixth forms and colleges.
This gets them to identify their strengths and their true nature to take the right decision in relation to their future education. All volunteers undergo enhanced DBS (formally CRB) checks and induction before undertaking the project. The age difference between volunteers and beneficiaries is a maximum of 5 years, to get beneficiaries to feel more comfortable to engage in the activities and not feel is another schoolwork.
How we measure our impact
Reviews and feedback are taken from beneficiaries and their teachers during each project to ensure continuous enhancement of the project to the benefit of the young people.
wHAT DO THE STUDENT VOLUNTEERS GAIN
Volunteers develop the knowledge and attitudes they need to succeed, building on the experience of youth social action, enterprise and entrepreneurship through the leisure time activities with the younger ones in sixth form and colleges.
